Hollenbaugh Seeks Return to House of RepresentativesFor Immediate Release (Download this release here) HOLLENBAUGH SEEKS RETURN TO HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES Representative Galen Hollenbaugh today announced he would be filing to return to the Montana House of Representatives. “Having the opportunity to serve the citizens of House District 81 in the Montana Legislature has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” Hollenbaugh said. “My many years of public service have taught me that progressive government can and does make a real difference in the lives of our citizens. Working together, I believe we can responsibly grow our community, provide good jobs at good wages, while at the same time protecting our clean air, pure water and open spaces.” Though only in his first term, Hollenbaugh was chosen to serve on the influential House Appropriations Committee as well as the Joint Appropriations Committee on Long-Range Planning. Among his accomplishments during the last session of the legislature, Hollenbaugh sites: providing more than $4.5 million in new funding for the Helena College of Technology; helping secure a $400,000 appropriation to allow continued PBS satellite service; having the Mike Horse Dam included in the Natural Resource Damage Program which will expedite cleanup of the headwaters of the Blackfoot River; enactment of all-day kindergarten, and; providing Montana homeowners with a $400 tax rebate. “I am committed to building on this record of progressive government when the voters return me to the legislature,” Hollenbaugh continued. “I’ve already begun knocking on doors in my district to ask my neighbors for their ideas on how we can keep Helena and Montana moving forward. So far the results have been extremely encouraging. I am excited about earning voters' support by running an issue-oriented, people-to-people campaign.” A Missoula native, Hollenbaugh, age 39, is a graduate of the University of Montana and currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff to Attorney General Mike McGrath. Besides his fourteen years working in state government, he has accumulated an extensive political resume, including campaign stints working for Senator Max Baucus and former Congressman Pat Williams, as well as numerous other statewide and legislative campaigns. Hollenbaugh was appointed by the Lewis & Clark County Commission to fill the seat vacated by Christine Kaufmann after she was appointed to the Montana Senate. His district includes portions of Helena's westside and the south-central part of town. “All Montanans should feel blessed that we live in a state where each and every citizen still has a voice.
